1. Explain what you understand the concept "development" means.
Development is the upgrading of an area, in different ways such as bigger population, newer technology etc.
2. List FIVE indicators that can be used to measure the level of development of countries
HDI, GDP, LIFE EXPECTENCY, GNI PER PERSON, CHILD MORTALITY
3. In a table, compare the characteristics of a "developed" and "less-developed" countries.

Developed
Less-developed
A lot of people in a large enough area
Less people but in a very cramped area
Tar roads, a lot of cars, trains, planes, boats
Ground roads, less cars, no trains,-planes, and only fishing boats

HIGH EMPLOYMENT, A LOT OF MEDICAL ACCESS ; ; ; LOWER EMPLOYMEN, LESS MEDICAL ACCESS
4. When using economy of countries to compare the level of development we can also refer to these countries as a "LEDC" and "MEDC". Explain these two abbreviations.
LEDC- Less Economically Developed Country…MEDC- More Economically Developed Country
5. Explain why it is better to use the Human Development Index (HDI) to classify countries as developed or   less-developed.
Since some countries have are LEDC but still have a good job/jobless rate
5. By studying Figure 1 and Figure 2 answer the following questions.
5.1. Is there a correlation between the countries in Figure 1 and Figure 2?
Yes
5.2. Give a possible reason for this.
With the weakest HDI the countries economics and job rates are low, causing poverty, which causes the low life expectancy
5.3. Give THREE possible reasons for the countries listed in Figure 2 to have a lows ranking.
People have low life expectancy because of dirty water, no food, shelter or maybe even clothes; Less education for people; Less Medical support is also a problem since most docter/nurses etc. die young.
5.4. Most people in these countries live as subsistance farmers. What is subsistance farming?
When they farm just enough to survive(feed themselves) not enough to sell.
5.5. What are the greatest needs for people in subsistance communities in order to "develop"?
To plant more than they need, to sell some and make extra money to plant even more etc.
